Large groups of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) fans were corralled and escorted by riot police as they headed toward the Champions League quarterfinal second-leg match against Barcelona on Tuesday, April 16.

Catalonia’s police force, Mossos d’Esquadra, said it had accompanied the PSG fans to prevent any clashes between the fans of the two teams.

This footage shows flares being lit as hundreds of PSG fans linking arms and singing and chanting as they progressed toward Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona’s Montjuic area, and Barcelona fans getting in an exuberant mood ahead of the 9 pm kickoff.

Other footage showed police officers striking some PSG fans with batons as they tried to control the group outside the stadium.
