Section of Atlanta Interstate Collapses in Fire

A major fire beneath Interstate 85 in Midtown Atlanta snarled traffic and caused a section of the 12-lane highway to collapse on Thursday afternoon, March 30, as commuters were headed home.

Traffic was backed up for miles on either side of the fire, which sent heavy black smoke billowing over the Atlanta skyline.
