Snowmelt Causes Flooding of Kings River Near Kingsburg

Sierra Nevada snowmelt and release of water from the Pine Flat Dam caused the Kings River to overflow its banks starting Friday, and continuing into Sunday, June 25. This aerial video was taken by the California National Guard on Sunday.

Early Saturday morning, residents from about 90 homes were ordered to evacuate near the Kings River Golf and Country Club, according to reports. The flooding caused damage to homes and recreational vehicles. Credit: California National Guard via Storyful
